Jack Lynch House. McNabs Island in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Map & Guide: www.halifaxtrails.ca/mcnabs-island-provincial-park/

McNabs Island in Ha... Fort Ives. McNabs ...

"Matthew Lynch, father of Midway King, Bill Lynch, built this house in 1931 after retiring as lighthouse keeper of the McNabs Island Rear Range Lighthouse. Lynch built the house over the foundation of the Peter McNab III cottage which was damaged by fire a few years earlier. Oh, the stories this house could tell! This house was the off-season home of Bill Lynch and his many guests who worked in his midway and carnival shows. The hardworking carnival ponies roamed free on the island when not providing rides for children at the Bill Lynch Shows. The Lynch house is now owned by the Province and is part of the provincial park. The Friends of McNabs Island used to provide guided tours of both the Lynch and Conrad houses. Sadly, these historic house are now boarded up and contaminated with mould. " - Friends of McNabs Island
